For the Medical Learner

The Hanna Habits

In 2021 - I was selected by the graduating class to give their commencement speech. I left them with these 7 pieces of advice for their futures as physicians. They serve as a constant reminder for me as well to stay patient-centered. Some of these may not make sense - so please reach out and ask!

  1. Don’t forget, you’re wearing a white coat.

  2. When shaken, Light up.

  3. Take more shoes off - off others’ feet.

  4. Go out to lunch & Be discipled.

  5. Visit the dying.

  6. Live a life where you’re not the point.

  7. Help your neighbor move their couch.

Graduation…during a pandemic

In 2020, the graduating class selected me to give their commencement speech. It was a strange and awkward time, so we had to do an online graduation. Here is the speech I delivered to them.
